Personal Interests and Hobbies

As behooves his academic identity, Markovits loves to read and write. He is a voracious consumer of all sorts of books, with a preference for politics and history. In addition, Markovits closely follows all sports, especially the team sports of basketball, baseball, football as well as soccer. He also enjoys all kinds of music, particularly that of Mozart, Beethoven and the Grateful Dead whom -- in his youth and on rare occasions -- he would follow on tour. In addition to being a DEADHEAD, Markovits greatly enjoys the company of golden retrievers who have been his constant companions for two decades. Above all, he enjoys life with his beautiful wife Kiki.
